BECKY BULLARD

October is here with Autumn coming to a close a Fall hopefully settling in with cooler day temps and even cooler evening temps.

Wishing the seasons colors changed like all of yours do in the Midwest and back East they are always so beautiful.

This is the bewitching month when all the little “Monster’s” dress up to haunt us all, pranks are pulled and the full moon seems to run rampant with craziness.

Our Annual Deep Pit is just around the corner with the ladies making Potato Salad & Macaroni Salad, SAL’s making Baked Beans and the Juniors holding a Bake Sale with goodies to tickle your taste buds with pure delight. There will be Door Prizes and a 50/50 to make the day complete. If you haven’t bought tickets yet it’s still they are at the bar to be purchased….

Ladies on Tuesday Night 10/2 we have an L-1 Bingo for anyone wanting to go be at the Post by 6 p.m. it starts at 7 at the Long Beach V.A.. There will be a Family Halloween Party/Potluck Saturday 10/27 come in costume and enjoy the fun. There is always someone walking around in a costume no one can figure out see if you can.

1ST VICE PRESIDENT

MEMBERSHIP

JANIS WHITE

Happy October and Happy Halloween Ladies;

I hope everyone’s having a good year so far make sure you check your calendars for upcoming events so you can come down and enjoy the festivities.

We are doing an “Early Bird” breakfast on November 4th so any Auxiliary member that has paid their dues gets a “Free One”. If you pay your dues that day it’s free too and you get your card a two for one shot. I hope to see everyone there.

Let’s get those numbers up ladies and have a great month.

You will notice on your renewal form the Senior Dues is $28.00 and Junior is $3.25. This is wrong, We are still at $25.00 and $4.00. National decided to raise it on the notice without our permission. So if you have sent your dues in and want your change please let us know and we will gladly refund what you have coming back. THIS WAS NOT DONE BY US!!!!!!

Reminding everyone to make sure you pay your dues it’s due now so we can get your membership cards out as soon as possible.

You will be receiving a letter regarding dues. Because of the raise in per capita

(the portion we send Department) it was voting on to raise our dues to $30.00 for Seniors and $6.00 for Juniors for the year 2020. This matter was discussed in depth and not taken lightly as we know many of us are on fixed incomes and it could become a hardship. It came to raising the dues or looking at closing the Charter which none of us wanted to do. We are sorry…….

The breakdown is as follows

Department $22.00 (National $12.00), Unit $8.00 for General Fund…..

2ND VICE PRESIDENT

PUBLIC RELATIONS

BECKY BULLARD

Gossip is our worst enemy….. The old saying rings true “If you can’t say something nice about someone or something don’t say anything

at all”.

Going somewhere and spreading bad news travels like wildfire and can be very detrimental to other people/families and organizations. Putting others business in the street is very disrespectful of the person, family or organization. It also can be very hurtful to all involved. So if it does not pertain to you PLEASE ZIP IT. Be respectful of others and don’t spread gossip that could hurt someone else.

WORDS HURT WORSE THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND CAN NOT BE TAKEN BACK. PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

F.Y.I………..

An Old Soldier's Prayer

I have fought when others feared to serve.

I have gone where others failed to go.

I've lost friends in war and strife,

Who valued Duty more than love of life.

I have shared the comradeship of pain.

I have searched the lands for men that we have lost.

I have sons who served this land of liberty,

Who would fight to see that other stricken lands are free.

I have seen the weak forsake humanity.

I have heard the traitors praise our enemy.

I've seen challenged men become even bolder,

I've seen the Duty, Honor, Sacrifice of the Soldier.

Now I understand the meaning of our lives,

The loss of comrades not so very long ago.

So to you who have answered duties siren call,

May God bless you my son, may God bless you all.

Marines Prayer:  Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me courage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my supervisors and to the duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold. The United State Marine Corps.

MEMBERSHIP

JANIS WHITE

Happy October and Happy Halloween Ladies;

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
